In an ever more interconnected world, the virtual team paradigm has seen exponential growth, revolutionizing the way individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds collaborate across distances. Recognizing the immense value of utilizing the talents of a culturally diverse workforce across the globe, organizations are embracing virtual teams as a means of reducing costs and gaining competitive advantage. Nevertheless, the diversity embedded in these virtual teams poses distinct challenges, requiring a deeper understanding of intercultural management and the cultural factors shaping their dynamics. This thesis seeks to explore the impact of cultural factors on the functioning of virtual teams, by particularly delving into its impact on communication & collaboration, while highlighting the many benefits and challenges that arise from embracing cultural diversity in virtual settings
