In modern economy, companies are continuously seeking ways to improve their logistics operations relying on technological advancements to gain a competitive edge. Warehouses are important facilities within supply chain, thus, warehouse automation technologies have emerged as a promising solution to enhance efficiency and optimize various processes of the warehouse, such as material handling automation, automatic item identification systems and Warehouse Management Systems. Furthermore, effective management of logistic performance is essential for companies to evaluate their current status and identify areas for improvement. Establishing a robust performance measurement system becomes imperative in this context. The present research consists of a comprehensive literature review about warehouse automation, including basic concepts about supply chain, logistics and warehousing. The empirical part is a qualitative study realized through interviews, this study aims to analyze the benefits, challenges, and potential drawbacks of warehouse automation in improving logistics efficiency
