The principle of Lean management is to eliminate all kind of wastes, it allows companies to become more competitive and enhance the likelihood of survival. The purpose of this study is an attempt to implement Lean management model in Port of Djen Djen, by focusing on Lean tools and techniques, as well as critical success factors and challenges of Lean management implementation Research literature is reviewed to gain understanding of its applicability in Port sector, with emphasizing on unloading process of diverse goods, where we could identify several non value added activities that create wastes and broaden the lead time of unloading. Then the research continues with discussion and proposing the appropriate lean tools and techniques such as 5S and Value Stream Mapping, in order to improve the work efficiency in operating department.
